The Supreme Vegan Pie Awards has been established in 2018 to showcase some of the amazing vegan pies that New Zealand has to offer. Plant-based vegan food has exploded to take centre stage in many New Zealand eateries due to its lower impact on the environment, and its benefits to both human health and animal welfare. Increasingly, vegan food is appreciated in its own right, for using healthy, tasty, clean ingredients, combined in innovative ways. New Zealand’s inaugural vegan pie competition is both cutting edge and classically Kiwi!
Judging will take place at The Butcher's Son on World Vegan Day, 1st November 2018, at 11am. Industry experts will be joined by celebrity vegan judge Emmett Skilton.

Pies will be judged for excellence in taste, appearance, texture, pastry qualities and even glaze.
