It's FebNoDairy 2025!

Welcome to another FebNoDairy where we celebrate all the fabulous non-dairy alternatives available in Aotearoa.

The 2025 Food Awards season kicks off with our People’s Choice Awards for Dairy Free Alternatives. We are looking for nominations now, so let us know your favourite non-dairy products. Email Amanda@vegansociety.org.nz with your choices.

There are so many different options for vegans, those with allergies to dairy and everyone else to try that we love being able to showcase your favourite ice creams, milks, butters, desserts, yoghurts and creams. These awards are the People’s Choice so your votes and nominations are what make these awards so great and so different from the other judged Awards.

We have been so excited to observe the growth of vegan and plant-based products becoming so widely available in the NZ marketplace. We feel blessed that the chiller cabinets of many supermarkets across the nation have several different options to feed hungry vegans.

Every time someone makes the choice to have a non-dairy alternative they save lots of water, land and the life of a calf, as well as lowering their personal carbon footprint. With wild fires again breaking out across the world, now more than ever it is vital for everyone to do as much as they can to reduce their carbon emissions and going dairy free is a great way to help our planet.

Change is coming, the future is vegan
