November is Vegan Month!

November-is-vegan-month-2024

The first of November is World Vegan Day and the start of World Vegan Month.  It is also our 15th year as a registered charity – so much to celebrate, but wait, there’s more! The return of our beloved Pie Awards, being judged on this auspicious Vegan Day.

Check out our Pie Awards page for the latest on our winners. How many of these delicious sounding pies have you tried? If you are in Auckland on 5th November why not attend our Gala Dinner and see the Awards being presented!

Thanks to the support of our members, we are able to inform and educate people on how to go vegan through our 21 day Easy Vegan challenge, as well as our 7 day Dairy Free challenge. Around 5000 people each year are helped to try vegan, which means 1.8 million animal lives are saved every year, along with 7.6 billion litres of water, over 33,000 tonnes of grain, 510 hectares of forest and 16,600 tonnes of carbon!

Want to know how much you’ve saved in your vegan lifetime?

This month the focus is on all things vegan and it’s a great time to remind you to check our Events page to find out what’s going on near you! We run markets in Auckland, regular potluck evenings and Vegan Living Talks across the nation. We also attend expos to showcase vegan options to the general public so they can try vegan food.

There’s an array of resources on our website to help people make the change and stay with it. Hundreds of pages of information, advice, recipes and resources to make it as easy as possible to be vegan.

There has never been a better time to join the Vegan Society and become part of a growing and thriving community of people dedicated to vegan philosophy and lifestyle.

The more vegans we can make the more animal lives are saved and the more benefit for the planet.
