Stay Home and Stay Safe.

A special message to all our web visitors in these strange, uncertain, unusual and confusing times.

Firstly, we would like to say a huge thanks to all the emergency services and key workers at this time, who are risking their lives so we can continue ours. Thank you and kia kaha.

We want to let you know that the Vegan Society is here as usual to offer support, information and remind you that you are not alone. As Kiwis we can and will pull through, you know we got this! Kiwis are famous for rallying together in times of adversity; turning hard situations around. This is our biggest challenge yet and one that is leading many of us to reconsider what is important. Now with many of us in isolation, we can perhaps have empathy for those who face it every day of their lives and they don’t even have Netflix.

If you are not yet vegan, there has never been a better time to try than now. We would like to encourage you to sign up to our 21 day easy vegan challenge where you will receive daily emails to help you get started and stay on track, including a daily dinner recipe and lunch and breakfast ideas.

  • Join us on Instagram where we are using the hashtag #lockdownvegannz where people can share their lockdown meal ideas and recipes or find them!
  • On Facebook we will bring you our usual round up of vegan news and delicious recipes for you to try.
  • On Twitter we will be tweeting daily positive posts and retweets from other vegan related organisations and media outlets, including links to tasty recipes. Didn’t know we were on Twitter? Find us at @vegan_nz and say hi 🙂

Or please send us your great recipes and we can profile them on all 3 spaces – amanda@vegansociety.org.nz
