The Vegan Cheese Awards Gala

An evening of elegant vegan indulgence!

On a wild, stormy night in August some of Auckland’s most esteemed chefs, vegan cheese makers and suppliers, food lovers and Vegan Society team gathered together to celebrate the recent NZ Vegan Cheese Awards.

The evening was off to a dramatic start with one gigantic clap of thunder and burst of lightening.  With the storm doing its best outside, attendees in the cosy confines of Kind Cafe were treated to an evening of entertainment and culinary delights!

The winning products of the Vegan Cheese Awards were served up over 8 courses, where they had been crafted into devine creations by chef and Award judge, Jasbir Kaur.

Alongside some outstanding artisanal cheeses and accompaniments were some of NZ’s winning products from the Vegan Sausage and Deli Awards, all up creating a sensory feast!

Each course was paired perfectly with exquisite wines or ports to complement the food and tantalise the taste buds.

This delightful and decadent experience was MC’d by the hilarious Tom Sainsbury, celebrity comedian, actor and Vegan Awards judge.  To add even more magic to a perfect evening there was even a surprise performance by world-renowned, NZ-based Illusionist, Declan Wong!
